I preferred this unit over an equally priced TomTom for the text-to-speech feature and it really is a big help. Some cities have local names for highways (eg. Sagamore Parkway rather than US 52) which makes them easy to miss esp if you are driving alone. This unit actually speaks out all the names of the street. Quite handy!Recalculation is really fast. At its best, it instructed me to "make a u-turn" in less than 5 seconds after I missed a turn (I know I am a sloppy navigator :P). I did however succeed in confusing it while driving downtown Chicago for a few minutes!I had a bit of trouble with the windshield mount initially but now it doesn't fall off at least while the GPS is mounted. In all, a nice inexpensive toy [...] for your car.

this is a really great gps it is kind of difficult to figure out to do stuff but altogether it is good i am kind of dissappointed that you cannot type in coordinates for geocaching cause thats what i wanted to do
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I use this every day at work as a field tech.
Exact house number might be a house or two off will get you pritty close. In the cities it is a lot more exact.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:

Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
This GPS is a good buy for the money. I bought it on sale plus I had a coupon for $10 off, so i got it cheaper. It gets me from A to B fast and reliably. I would recommend this to a friend without guilt.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
This GPS is the best one for the money with out a doubt. You get everything you get with the $250 Tom Tom, Garmin and other big names on the market. with only spending [$].
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
Really a good little GPS for the money. Strong and easy to understand voice quality, even in text-to-speech, modest POI, good color selection, updated maps, good website. [*] routing, especially in re-routing from missed turns. Even when you are a block away from your destination, wants you to do a U-turn and go back to where you missed the original. Gets confused really fast when you intentionally miss several required turns. But, hey, it will get you to your destination, eventually. Very slow display update when changing directions. Often I had to exceed 10 mph speed to update display even when driving 180 degrees from original course. But even with the shortcomings, it will be a good buy for most travelers. The text-to-speech is great, well pronounced, and easy to understand. I'm keeping mine.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I bought this at the store on sale. It worked fine at first. I got to work with it in fifteen minutes. It takes two or more hours on the bus so I was impressed. However, after I left work and tried to use it to get home the backlight went out and didn't come back on again.[...]
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I've had mine less than 24 hours. Looks like a great machine for the money, once you UNDERSTAND how to use it. Unfortunately, instructions, DVD, website woefully inadequate. Important point I picked up from doing my own internet research as text to speech was not giving me street names:You must select US English with a name such as "Samantha", etc. and it will call out the street name directions as you navigate. Generic UK female or UK male, US female etc. do not work in calling out street names. I bought the unit because it was priced well AND had the text to speech function. I think the Customer Service is rotten that I had to go to the trouble and spent hours literally going nuts trying to get it to work as it's supposed to...also, keypad is not the greatest if you have large fingers, but overall, I am PLEASED and will keep this unit. Hope this helps someone, as 'Daz' helped me in his review of the Moov 200 on the [@] site.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
This unit does practically everything well; its display is clear, it's pretty easy to enter addresses, and it gives accurate directions, saying things like "turn right on Thompson Street then make the first left" which is really helpful for knowing what lane to get into ahead of time. And having it say street names is very helpful.
TIP: The GPS only says street names if you use one of the "named" voices (example, English: Samantha) and not just a generic (like English female). Also, there's more voices on the CD you can upload into it. Mine's now Karen (Australian accent - very cool.)
But most importantly, it gets me where I want to go with rarely a problem. The rare glitches both involved State parks: It found the way there, but to an odd entrance instead of the main entrance. Not a big deal. Overall I highly recommend this one.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I purchased this gps recommended by the retailer as comparable with other systems. NOT SO! We used this approxiametly 4 times with relatively few problems although the addresses were off. We used it on two long trips and took it with us on our flight used it successfully to get from the airport to our 1st destination. We then had problems with the touch screen being non responsive and entering new trip information. We tried to return it to the retailer for a replacement but couldn't because we had had it for 6 weeks and had to take it back to where we purchased it. It did us a lot of good when needed it the most. We took it back with us and turned it in with nothing but problems getting it sent in for repair even after purchasing a service agreement. I would not buy another mio [...]
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
Never having owned a GPS in my car before (I have used them in aviation), I can say with complete honesty that this thing does everything that I bought it for, and then some. I am going to Chicago and wanted it to get around, I've put it through the paces in rural and urban areas, intentionally making wrong turns, etc and it got me back on track and to my destination every time. As long as you don't expect it to make human decisions, it's great! POI could use some work; but I've already used it to find gas stations and even a [...] in an area I wasn't familiar with.Unless you are used to a $1000 GPS, buy this thing, you'll love it. If I had it to do over I may have spent the extra money for the wide-screen version.

Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I got this product after reading all of the reviews in this site; and honestly I was DISAPPOINTED. First, the way the MIO put the power supply at the bottom means I could not get it as close to the dashboard when I mount it on my windshield, therefore it occupies more of my peripheral vision parameters when driving which is, "technically", less safe than having a good view during driving. Second, I drove a radius of about 20 miles from my home 78216 in San Antonio,TX area and it only said the street name ONCE. NOT AS ADVERTISED that is speaks street names. Third, the graphics are not as good as that of my previous GPS (Garmin C330 and Amcorp 3900)and the text of the street names that "floats"obscures the view of the oncoming street "roads/lines" which makes you look at the gps more often (which is again unsafe!)to know your next maneuver. Fourth and least, there are many roadworks in and around San Antonio (i410, 1604, etc) and it kept "cycling" through the same road blocks and when I tried to change route it kept telling to go back and use the same route. Then you'll have to change your preferences before you can actually be where you want to be. For those with poor sense of direction this would be a disadvantage. OF course, the human brain is far superior in charting the course around the round blocks so eventually when you get over the roadworks, it does redirect you back on track ONLY after YOU yourself have forced a change of route over the roadblocks. For the sake of being fair, I must acknowledge that it does have FASTER satellite fix than my Garmin C330. And the desktop software application deserves an accolade for user-friendliness. I will return it coz I am not satisfied at all. So, in conclusion, I am still on the look out for my ideal GPS. And moreover, thumbs up for the GPS software lay-out which is excellent and MORE better than my Amcorp 3900. Cheers! Hopefully my time in attending to this review would "guide" others in making that decision for their GPS of choice. Specially for the "aliens" like me which makes this technology a NECESSITY. Good luck everyone.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I have only had this a week and have been frustrated trying to keep my home address. In fact, I am going back to the store and see if the salesperson there can get it to stay, or show me how. It gives me the house on either side or across the street. It needs a decent how to manual for less savy users. It presumably assumes you have had other GPS experience. The only way you can learn how to use this is to sit and touch every selection on the screens. It takes 5-6 hours to recharge on your PC and less than that to discharge. Haven't tried to charge it in the car yet. Other than these issues it seems ok for all I want. With the road work where I drive I should have gotten the model with TMC. I haven't tried it to the airport yet, 2 hours away. I won't recommend it until I use it longer.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
Text to speech is priceless for my use. Bought unit last month and have been giving it a a good workout. Two issues I have had is when I am near the Interstate the units performance slows for a second or two. Next is when you set route and have to go across a bridge, it would not calculate route until I have reached the other side of the bridge. [$] From what I have read and my experience buy a gps with Text to Speech! Very happy with purchase.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I had a tom tom and that was to hard to use. This Mio is so much better and easy to use. I never get lost anymore.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
This unit is severely out of date. When visiting relatives that have lived in the same house for three years the unit did not recognize their address. Also amusment parks are not POI's. This made things difficult in Orlando, Fl. The maps for this unit canot be updated online per mio support.
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
THIS UNIT IS VERY EASY TO USE. I WOULD NOT BE WITHOUT IT NOW THAT I HAVE IT,MAKES GETTING TO JOBS SO EASY. BOUGHT A SECOND UNIT FOR A BACKUP. AAA+++

My mother and I flew to Portland, OR and then rented a car and drove to Sequim, WA. I programmed in the address of the hotel from the airport and it took us right to the door, then I plugged in the address in Sequim, WA and once again, it took us right to the door. It was great. Best purchase I ever made.

Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
Personally, I like the Mio. Its durable, does the job, and even has a nice design. I like the text to speech function, and as a first time GPS owner, I like it very much. Could have some better battery durability, but, I'm glad that for the money, it does what its supposed to. I definitley reccomend it.

Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I needed a GPS for my mom, in the past gave her a TomTom and she had difficulties using it. With the MOOV 200 she is very happy and it took her minutes to learn to use it. Also the satellite acquisition time is the best I have seen by far
I recommend this GPS as a great entry level product, easy to use, much easier than my Garmin Nuvi 200
Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:

Just bought this product 2 days ago, i immediately took it out from the box and traveled from Sebring, FL to Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, FL... This GPS device works great even under the sun. Directions are 99.9% percent accurate most of the time. Battery life is not a problem since it has a car charger included with it. Try it to believe!!!

Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
Owned this less than 24 hours - and am about to return it.
The software, in comparison to earlier Mio IGo
software, is ridiculously complex.
Also - try looking for 'train stations' and see how far you get. This thing doesnt seem to have train stations!
So much for being in NY and getting easily threaded to Penn Station, or Grand Central station. You can find nearby stores, and hope for the best. This applies to all regions. Airports are listed, but forget about trains (unless its so well hidden that I couldnt find the section dealing with them).
Overall, this veers between two extremes: overly complex, and absurdly juvenile - catering to the mentally challenged, with bright big generic icons, which list everything, except what you want.
Also 'general points of interest' seem to cater to morons - its all car washes, car repairs, motorbike-related things..
I don't think much of this latest software running the Mio..
the product itself is great, compact, etc - but for ease of use to find things when coming into a new city, no good (and where's a decent manual btw?)
Also the 'mio more' software that comes with this, is a joke, it looks like half finished software, with zero explanation of what it for.
Having bought this one to replace a broken older Mio 310x digiwalker, I've sent away for another refurb 310x - rather than put up with this product.
The previous versions, with iGo software, are far superior to this product, for simple ease of use.

Comments about Mio Mio™ Moov 200 Portable GPS Receiver:
I went to Radio Shack to buy the Garmin Nuvi 200. The salesman told me that the Mio was brand new and it had text to speech and was $20 dollars cheaper. I took a chance on the Mio against my better judgement. The salesman said try it and if I dont like it I can bring it back within 30 days and exchange it. I am not new to GPS so I felt like I would be able to tell if this was worth the money. I stuck it to the window, plugged it into my car and it within a few minutes I was off and running.
The map was clear and readable and the maps seemed current. The first thing I noticed was that I had to put my state in every search which may not seem like a big deal but after a while it is just one more step to do.(I had to scroll down everytime to get to it) The letters and numbers on the touch screen also seemed smaller and with my clumsy fingers, I had to constantly hit the back button. The voice text to speech was as fine as you will get as they will always miss pronounce certain words so it wasn't a big deal. I then found that there is no detailed written instructions that come with the unit and it came with a CD disk you had to download on your computer to get any info. Upon downloading which seemed like forever, I found that you have to log in with MIO in order to view any documents. I assume this though because I never could figure the site out and it kept asking me to sign in. I got disgusted and just decided I would figure the thing out on my own.
The next day I went to work and put it to the test. It was a warm day but not hot around 70 degrees. I noticed that the screen wasnt as bright as it once was. I thought that maybe the sun was just so bright and I really didnt think much more of it. After parking my car for about an 1 1/2 hrs. I returned and started the car and went to turn the GPS on. The screen went gray and I could no longer get it to work until I put it in front of the AC vent for a few minutes and cooled it off. When it returned, everything was now in Russian. My last Garmin sat on my dash for 5 years in sweltering heat and never had an issue. Because I drive all day for work, I decided that I needed a unit I could trust to work in the heat. Radio Shack kept their word and exchanged it fot the Garmin with no questions asked.
I really wanted to like the MIO and hope that maybe my story is just a fluke for this unit. It is a super thin uni and the price is great! The text to speech was neat but to me there is not much of a difference between (Turn left on Jones St. in 1 mile and Turn left in one mile) My radio is usually to loud to hear the directions anyway.
Hope this helps.... Good Luck!

I found the Mio brand to work extremely well for the price. I really like the ease of use. I did not read the manual but was so easy to figure out I did not need to. Found sat. signal fast and accurate. Lots of POI's. Found everything I have needed so far....

Mio has finally done it - a GPS with the most important features for getting there:
Text to speech
Great new, easy-to-use interface
Lots of POIs
Really fast satellite acquisition
There's nothing else out there with these features at this price!
I wanted a GPS for my fiancee that wasn't confused with a bunch of multimedia features. She loves it!
