Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

My friend has this laser pointer, and we took it out behind the school on a foggy night, and you could literally see the green line for at least a mile and a half. I would recommend this to anyone who just wants to have fun, or anyone who would use it for a presentation. I used it for a presentation in my class, and it works great. It's clear, bright, and vivid.

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

I've had many of the red lasers in the past, and although they were pretty nice, they don't even begin to compare to the brightness and range of my new green lasers. This is one of my favorite new "toys"... Get one, and you'll see how much fun it is...

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

I'm not sure what's up with the haters - maybe they're just stupid.

This thing rocks. Don't expect to see the beam in mid-air in a well lit room. You need some moisture in the air and a clear night... this is the cheapest and best star-pointing laser I've found yet. If you had more in stock - I'd buy 3 more.

Very nice..even better when modified!!
By LaserFanaticVerified Reviewer from Houston, Texas on 10/17/2008
Pros:
Durable, Good Value, High Quality
Cons:
No cons about this laser
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

This is a great, green laser. Because it is brighter than any red laser pointer, I really wouldn't classify it as a "laser pointer". I realize it is <5mW, but because it can even be seen in the daylight, its uses can go further as to let someone experiment with laserlight. After modifing mine, its intensity is about equal to a 15-20mW output, so I'm satisfied with this ability to change its intensity, without breaking any internal parts (Opening it is tricky, but once done, easy to mod). I recommend it to anyone who is fascinated by laserlight, but not as a gift for young kids who may mistake it for a toy.

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

I use this in Law Enforcement. It works well to get peoples attention real fast. Do not belive the crap people write about this light. I have bought other green light lasers for a lot more and they did not work. It is the strongest laser allowed to the public by law, it is a 5. There for other website claims of thrity or even fifty times brighter are false. It is only [$]. It works great, at a good price.

I use it for astronomy and a pet exerciser.

It is great for pointing out stars and constelations. The people in my classes love that they know exactaly what I am looking at. I even made a mount so I can put it on my telescope.

The cat and dog love it.

yes it does "flicker" a little, but you can still see the beam even when it is at its lowest.

A good value. others cost about $100

Pros:
Expensive, Overpriced
Cons:
Unreliable
Best Uses:
None
Describe Yourself:
Gearhead
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

I have never bought the product, but several of my friends have. It's ok, and brighter that a 5 or 2 milliwatt red laser (like 40 times brighter). So it's cool. But even at night, you can barely see the beam. At dealextreme.com, for the same price you can get a 20 times more powerful green one or a 40 times more powerful red one. (they can burn stuff too)

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

On a lab power supply at three-volts, this laser draws a constant 260mA. When first powered, the laser produced 3.6mW at 532nm, but within a few seconds the output power dropped to less than 1mW and continued to fall; the supply current remained constant. This laser simply cannot make and maintain the claimed power. I returned it.

Pros:
Powerful, Precise
Cons:
Unreliable, Weak Signal
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

Pros:
Very powerful. Extremely bright. You can clearly see the beam stretching (seemingly infinitely) star-ward on a dark night. Looks nice, has a quality weight/feel to it. Great dog toy too.

Cons:
Can get considerably weaker the longer you use it (oddly though, it reverts to full power after it's off for a while). Can fluctuate widely in power for no apparent reason. To be honest I think it's a battery problem, and seems to be solved for the most part by not storing batteries in the pointer.

Unreliable, too heavy, it did not work.
By Abo from Washington, DC on 2/25/2008
Pros:
Powerful
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Classroom, Outdoors, Presentations
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

Indoor use in a museum. Unacceptable variable light output. Erratic on/off switch. It's too long and too heavy for shirt pocket use. How did this unit pass the quality assurance tests? Not pleased with the product. Reliability is a requirement not an option.

Cons:
Unreliable
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Comments about RadioShack Green Laser Pointer:

I bought it today and will return it in the morning. It is not reliable it flickers and is very dim about half the time you push the button. When it is at it's brightest it is much better than my red pointers! I'll try another but was pretty upset after the price I paid.
