It's a must have for ipod owners. I can't get over how cheap it was! It works perfectly, I hooked it up to my t.v./reciever and it works great. Listen to music, watch videos, look @ photos, while it charges and control functions (play/pause, menu, skip, shuffle, repeat, volume, enter, scroll up/down, power) from across the room! I use it with ipod video (5th gen). You won't find a better deal for a similar product. The only con was that the included a/v cable was too short, only 3 ft. long, but i had plenty of those laying around so i used a 6 ft. a/v cable I had. So, stop reading go buy it (I bought two)!

this is for all the people who wrote that the divece does not work.... the thing is that it does!!! and really good.... of course that you wont see on tv the menus of the ipod, which is a shame in fact but you can see videos and photos and the sound has a good quality. Also you can use the USB port with an universal cable instead of the original apple's cable.

here is the bad news... you have to be to much carefully with the port of the ipod if you let it fall down with the ipod connected the port could be brakes and all is over... I try to fix it with some soldering but the circuit is too thin... It work at the beginning but then my ipod becomes mad! So im going to get another one...!
this is not made for ipod 3rd gen so dont try it!
Works pretty well whit ipod video and nano 2nd gen...

I also own an 80 Gigabyte Classic Ipod. The product does not support Ipod Classics for Video (it supports 80 Gigabyte Ipods with Video but not Ipod Classics). That is because Apple changed the Ipod Classic and only Apple Products will support video at this point. BUT, if you want to use it for Audio or with a supported Ipod, it is fabulous. I hooked mine to our Bose 3-2-1 system and it is wonderful. I returned it because it wasn't compatible video wise for an Ipod Classic but now regret it because it is the best thing I found and $80 cheaper than what I would need to spend to purchase the apple dock and cords.

I own the 80 gig ipod classic (the newest one) and bought this device which claimed to support audio and video. I just bought a new 42'' visio lcd tv, and im trying to get 'AV-2' to recognize my ipod's video output through this dock. I switched it up, tried 2 cables, and other aux. inputs on the tv, and other routing techniques, (through vcr, dish, etc.) and nothing. However, this device, for the price does charge you ipod, and plays music just fine. Clean in appearance, and comes with a remote . . not bad. [...]

I have tried to connect this device to two different tvs, with multiple sets of cables, and both my 1st generation and 3rd generation iPod Nanos. I can't get this thing to output video at all. One tv will play audio, the other won't. Both tvs work with other devices so I know it's not a problem with the tv's ports. Basically this docking station is good only if you want to charge your iPod without connecting it to your computer.

Connected to my 3rd gen iPod Nano, the unit outputs audio, but not video. It seems to charge the unit ok, I have not tried the USB cable connection, as I bought this unit to connect my iPod to my stereo. I was hoping to get video out as well, but it doesn't seem to work. I couldn't recommend this unit to an owner of a 3rd gen iPod, but suspect it works fine with the previous generation iPods.

This is such a great idea in theory and such a horrible execution in practice. I'm fighting right now with the 3rd one I've brought home after returning 2. The first 2 didn't work at all. This one plays only videos thru the iPod to the TV, but won't play music (and yes, the left & right audio RCA's are hooked up & the TV's set to auxilary input.) It's not because the Pod is too new or too old -- it's a 30 gig iPod Video, which is SUPPOSED to be compatible! Documentation (what little there is) says software should be version 2.2 for the remote to work, but the remote works fine and software only goes up to version 1.2.3 for this Pod. If you want extreme aggravation, frustration and unrealized promise, buy this product. Otherwise...no.

This unit WILL play videos from a 60GB Video iPod, but will not play videos from the "New Generation" iPod 80GB & 160GB Classics. Manual says to download iPod version 2.2. From what I can tell that version does not exsist. New iPod classics are updated to 1.0.3 and that's it. The older 60GB has version 1.2.1 and WILL play videos, but the remote control does not work.

Accurian AMA-2336 is not compatible with the new generation iPods. Apple made the units only compatible with certain OEM cables and docks. Currently the (iPod Classic and others) will not work with after market products. At best you will get some audio, but no video.

On the plus side, this dock is a good value for people who have an older version ipod. It has some very nice features and is easy to use.

I thought this was going to work great for taking on trips, and watching videos, and podcasts on my brand new Nov 2007 Ipod classic 80 gig. Well I tried it, and it worked after fooling around with the TV, and plugging/unplugging the ipod from the unit, finaly I got it on the TV. It worked that one time. I was dumb, and thought, great it is going to work, so I threw away the box and recipt. So the only thing this will do for me now, is play music, video on the ipod classic 80 does not work.

I tried playing video on my TV through the dock. When I tried to pause the video, go back to menu, and choose a new video, my ipod G5 frooze. I had to resset it. When the ipod came back to life the screen became glitchy, and the hard drive started, and continues, to click and whirl. Because of this product, I have to send in for a new ipod. Be warned. Be afraid.

About 5 mins after I took the docking station out of the box I was playing music through it. Could not have been easier. I have it connected to my A/V system and the sound from my iPod now fills the house. Even though the remote that comes with it worked just fine, I use a universal remote for all my TV and stereo system so it took about another 5 mins to set that up to run the docking station. On the video side, I loaded and ran the movie "Transformers" through the s-cable and the picture was just fine. Better than broadcast. All of this in a package that is 1/5 the cost of anything else that comes close. I now have hundreds of songs and a few movies at my fingertips that can be played on a quality speaker system. If you have an iPod you need this.

I used this as a hookup to a stereo so i could play from my ipod instead of constantly changing disks. The connector for the ipod itself broke in the first week and i had to get it replaced ... then i bought another one and got the warranty. Same thing happened again and proves that this product is useless and very cheaply made. Sad thing is that this is the only station that is the size and shape i need for my application without additional speakers and the right outputs i need.

This product is no good, the the buttons on the remote wore off, i had to manually press the next button on the ipod. It wouldnt charge, then the charger broke off. It was an all around bad product. DONT BUY IT. YOUR CRAZY IF YOU DID!!!!!!!

This product is great. I use it for hooking up my iPOD to my receiver. The best part about it is that the sound is just like playing a CD there is true fidelity of the digital music. I originally purchased another product that was twice as expensive and worked half has well. Make sure the product you get has the direct AV cable connection on the back of the dock (not a 3.5mm jack port then to a AV connection).

I've only had this great product for one day but i can honestly say i dont think i could have gotten a better deal on such a great product. Two days ago I had purchased a regular av cable to plug my ipod to my tv and was pretty happy about it. I was soo excited and exchanged the cable for the dock and payed the difference. I got this to use in the bedroom, hooked up to some speakers. It all works great except that the alarm (nano 1st gen) doesn't go off. Instead the "Charged" message is permanently on screen. Unplugging the power means no sound..ho-hum

This dock is very nice, the only downside is that you have to purchase a separate USB cable to connect it to the computer. Its pretty nice and the photos and movies that you watch on the tv are very nice, but for the same or a bit higher price you can buy an Apple Universal Dock, which I should say is twice as better. In conclussion, this dock should work fine for people who dont mind purchasing the separate USB cable.

nice design. Descent price. First, previous poster noted that there is a "1 second" skip before the song plays. That is actually an ipod problem, a large number of ipods have this problem, where the device will intermittently "skip" 1 or more seconds of the beginning of a song. Second, regarding the dock, it is overall quite nice, BUT the tendency to produce audible distortion when the volume on the dock is increased is a real problem. It should not do this, and that is why I rated the performance so low.

Generally, it works and is a good price. However, it does have two annoying features. One, the power light on the back. The instructions read that the light is to indicate the unit is on. But if your iPod is not attached or not playing, this light slowly and steadily blinks. Mine is located in the front of the room and the blinking red light on the wall behind the unit is annoying. Second, when switching songs, sometimes the next song starts a second or fraction of a second into the song. Also annoying. For the cheap price, I will continue to use it; because I do not have any experience with other docks and how they perform, I assume the issue of starting a song at any point other than the beginning is a defect of the device.

The unit works as advertised, but I would suggest setting it at a low volume and adjusting the volume on your receiver, amp, etc. accordingly. When I used the dock at full volume, I heard some distortion. The sound was much clearer if I turned down the volume on the dock and instead turned up my receiver. (A line level output with no volume control would have been ideal). The remote is cheap and its signal seemed weak to me, but I had no problem programming my universal remote to control the dock. Holding down the up/down buttons on the remote does not scroll quickly through lists, so making a selection can be tedious if you are like me and have hundreds of artists and thousands of songs stored on your iPod. Again though, if you have a good universal remote, you can program a workaround. This unit is great for the price if you want to control your iPod remotely and do not need or want menu navigation through your TV.

Well let me start off by saying this is a good product. The sound is pretty good. the price is right! the remote is a little cheap but works well. the video, well..... looks the way I Expected it to look. An optical output may be asking for much but would have been nice to see. with all that said i'm not sure i'm going to keep this produt because you CAN NOT use the tv screen to navigate through the menu. I don't see the real point of having a remote control and a video output if I still have to come up to the device to see which file i'm going to play. If u want to see the ipod's videos then this is for you, if not u may be better off with a FM transmitter.

This device is great for the price. The remote is nothing short of basic, but the fact that it runs off of a USB 2.0 A B cable is a lot nicer than always having to carry around your ipod official cable, and a lot cheaper to replace. The quality of video is as expected. Dont put it on anything larger than a 13" TV and you'll be sitting pretty.
