I had another Motorola headset that I used with a BLUETOOTH adapter and it was not that great (probably because of the adapter) but this one is great. The second headset that I had was a Motorola also, and had a very poor sound quality. This one I can actually call friends from my cell phone and they will not complain about the sound quality. I also wear glasses and this is not limiting to my headset. Definately a good buy!

Comments about Motorola Motorola Bluetooth® Headset H700:

I purchased this headset on Dec. 5, 2007 after reading hundreds of reviews (both positive and negative). There were more positive than negative, so I decided to give it a try (not to mention it was on sale for half off). It paired with my Samsung M510 with no problems. I did not have any physical problems with the bluetooth at all (the buttons are easily accessable, it's stylish and extraordinarily comfortable, and very user friendly).

My issues are with the sound quality. My husband complained about it almost immediately. He could hear me, but there was a "tinny" sound (like I was talking out of a can), other reviewers complained of this as well. He also said the background noise seemed to surpass my voice. When driving in my vehicle on the interstate, he had a really hard time hearing me. He said he could hear the road noise better than me (this problem also occured in town, however). The main purpose of purchasing this was to use it in my vehicle. My sister also complained of smaller issues, like static, but only after I prompted her for her opinion of the sound quality.

My personal issue with sound quality is that if I ever needed to turn up the headset, it distorted the voices of my callers. Meaning, the louder it was turned up (so I could hear), the more my callers sounded like they were speaking with their phones in their mouths (like talking with lips on a microphone).

Today is my 30-day mark and I am returning the bluetooth. I love it, but if my husband can't hear me, what's the use? I had planned on using it for business as well, but I can't take the chance that sound quality will interfere.

On a side note, I do not live in a rural area. I noticed a lot of reviewers that lived in rural areas had similar problems. My city is well-populated and contains many cell towers. What does this tell you? That the problem does not arise from rural residence; that, for me, these issues have nothing to do with location. I think some people are just lucky with their purchase and some aren't. A game of chance, perhaps. By the way, I have the B-version (the improved version).

I love this ear piece, too bad it does not work well with the new LG Venus...The range it has can be measured in an arms length, it even seems to matter which pocket it's in. People on the other end say the volume level goes up and down like a roller-coaster, though the volume on my end sounds fine. I have tried two of them and they perform the same.

This is my first experience with a headset so I don't have much to compare it to. I think this headset works fine. People have complained about the person on the other end saying it is muffled or has some static. Well, if you make sure the boom is not resting against your jaw/cheek you will eliminate this problem. I love this in the car. Your attention stays on the road. But I will recomend this... If you use this with voice activation, I would train your phones voice recognition through the ear set. It will perform better with the earset that way. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because this is the only one I have ever used. P.S. This thing is so light you forget you have it on... don't change your shirt in the bathroom... it will fly off your head and end up in the toilet. In case your wondering... I did guickly go after it... whashed it off under runing water... dryed it off and yes...IT STILL WORKES FINE!

I had the H500 and returned it for the H700. Compared to the H500, this one transmits much better. People on the other end hear me better. On the receiving end, there is very mild static (on the H500 I could hear perfectly) but the volume is good. I love the flip open boom that turns the unit on and off. The battery life seems excellent. The other thing I love is that it charges on the same mini-USB as my Moto phone and can use the same wall and car charger. Another added bene is being able to charge it on a computer via USB/Mini USB cable.

I used this headset for my Treo 650. I had been through several bluetooth compatible headsets and this is the first one that worked like it was supposed to.

I loved it for the 9 months that it worked and unfortunately it died or something. It won't pair with the phone anymore and I have done a lot of trouble shooting.

Luckily I purchased the warranty and I can get a replacement. I want to try something else. I like the fact that it folded and I am partial to that but if I can find one that cancels out that background noise that would be better.

if i could give it less that 1 star, i would...i thought pairing a motorola bluetooth headset with my motorola razr would be ideal, but the headset falls way short...it would often drop the connection even with the phone within 2 feet...i gave this up for a jabra 125 which performed much better at less than half the price, but the jabra earloop broke after a few months...i'm searching for a new bluetooth headset as i find it invaluable in the car or in my home office...

After owning the H500 For 16 Months the ear piece hook wore out so I went with the H700 cause it said that it had improved noise reduction. It dosent and the people I talk to say I sound a little like a robot. The person on the other end sounds that way to. I am returning the thing 3 days after I got it. I was using it with a Motorola KRAZR...The H500 worked way better than this one.

Comments about Motorola Motorola Bluetooth® Headset H700:

Returned unit due to sound quality and performance. Although I could hear fine, people I called said I sounded 'tinny', like I was in a barrel, muffled, etc. Had to repeat myself quite often. Turning up volume resulted in me having to listen to a constant low level 'white' noise during call. Very frustrating.

This is the third bluetooth I've had and the very best. It fits on my ear perfect, it is lightweight and simple to use. I almost didn't buy it because of some reviews I read. I have not had one bit of static, the volume is great and it stays on my ear. Everyone I have asked couldn't tell if I was using it or the handset. It is a bit pricey compared to other products, but I am completely satisfied and the extra price is worth it in my opinion.

By Angela L from Hammond, La on 6/29/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

Comments about Motorola Motorola Bluetooth® Headset H700:

As a radioshack employee I have had the benefits of trying out several blue tooth headsets that we sell in store. This is by far the best one that I have gotten my hands on. I recommend it to all customers with the added warnings that it will begin to cut out at around 25 feet. If the instructions are followed correctly in the beginning the battery life should be as advertised. Treat it like a house phone or an ipod, charge it up all the way for your first time and then let it drain down every now and then. The same issues happen with those customers who didn't charge it up all the way initially. I use my phone for both home and work and this little headset is always on my ear, the only time I feel that it is there is when I take it off. I enjoy the multicolored button feature so that I know when it is in parsing mode and how low the battery is and whatnot, a great feature to have. I am not quite sure where the sound quality complaints have come from, I have to keep the volume down on mine because if not then I feel as if it is blaring in my ear. Most people on the other end have had no problems with hearing me except if I have the radio/ac vent up too high. The earpiece will once in a while unsynk itself with the phone but as soon as you click the button to make a call or receive one, the problem is resolved within seconds. I have never had an issue with it dropping a call on me because of this problem. All in all a great product, hopefully more can enjoy its good qualities.

By L W from Copelin on 6/12/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality

Comments about Motorola Motorola Bluetooth® Headset H700:

I got this in Feb 06 and have mixed emotions. The big deal is that sometimes the phone and earpiece will not be sinqed together, even though the phone says that your wireless ear piece is connected. So you may be on the phone for a minute before you realize that you are not connected to your phone. Also, you has to get used to the volume, or lack of it. I am hard of hearing and sometimes it is hard to hear the other person. I am on the phone almost 2000 mins a month, and most of the time, it is great. The irritation thing on the upper back side of the ear goes away. Believe me, it is painfull and annoying, but you build up a callis I guess and the pain eventually stops. I would wait to buy Bluetooth stuff, so that all of the bugs can be worked out of the systems, however State and Federal Traffic Laws are pushing for the "Hands Free" device while driving, ASAP. Get one. Once you get used to it and figure out all of the bugs and kinks, you can work around them!

By Jack MVerified Reviewer from Jonesboro, AR on 6/7/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

Comments about Motorola Motorola Bluetooth® Headset H700:

I received the H700 as a Valentine gift back in February. I have been very impressed with the range of features, size, comfortable design and battery life. I am a little disappointed in the sound quality though. In general, I use the headset daily but only for a few minutes per day. On occasion, I have worn the headset all day long and spent hours on the phone. I find that I can wear the H700 for hours and it doesn?t affect my hearing or my comfort. In fact, I easily forget that I have it on and have worn it longer than I needed because of that. It?s so very light and small that once it?s on, I can barely tell it?s there. I simply love the folding boom mike on/off feature. Since I don?t wear my headset all the time, I only put it on when I need to make or take a call. The folding boom on/off feature works great for this kind of use and it helps extend the battery life. I go at least two weeks without charging my headset and I?ve gone as much as three weeks. It has only fully run out of juice once and that was after three weeks of being powered down with periods of use. I have average size ears, not overly large but not small either, and the H700 fits perfectly. On the other hand, my wife who has very small ears uses an H700 and it fits her perfectly as well. The buttons on the headset are very functional and easily accessible. Most every feature is accessed via the call button which is in the center of the headset body. The volume buttons are on top and bottom of the body and easy to access. If you flip the headset over and configure it for the opposite ear, you can also easily reassign the volume up button to the top so that it feels natural to use. The only slightly awkward feature is Mute which is accessed by pressing both the up and down volume buttons at the same time. But it isn?t really awkward and is easily accomplished. Mute is not a feature that I access very often anyway. Overall, the button layout is superb and functional. You receive a wall charger with the headset but I like that the port is a standard mini-b USB jack which allows the headset to charge from a PC USB port. That is how I most often charge mine and it works great for travelers. I have no need to be more than a few feet from my phone and the headset works great for me. I did test the distance though and found that it would go about 15 feet before the signal started to break up. It isn?t very useful beyond 15 feet away. However, neither is my Plantronics 510. On the negative side, the ear piece could be and should be a lot louder than it is. I have no problems hearing through it but I do wish it were louder. I also have a Plantronics 510 and the sound quality of that headset is a huge improvement over the H700. Also, I?ve had complaints from people I?ve communicated with using the headset that they hear a lot of background noise when I use the headset. It?s true; I have experienced this myself when talking to my wife while she was on her H700. However, I figured out recently that almost all of the noise was coming from the air conditioner vents in our cars! By simply turning the vents away from my face or turning the A/C off, the background noise went away! This was a significant find for me. Apparently the H700 doesn?t block air noise very well. On the other hand, I don?t seem to have this issue with my Plantronics 510 but it is easily overcome with the H700. And, I?ve been told that the voice quality of the 510 is much better than the H700 even though the H700 gets the job done. All in all, I wish the ear piece could be go a few notches louder on the H700 but it is still a good headset.

Comments about Motorola Motorola Bluetooth® Headset H700:

After returning the h500 moto headset the h700 was a disapointment. The range was 14.5Ft with fair sound quality but any distance greater then 15Ft the sound Quality deterated rapidly. When talking on this h700 people said there was more back around noise then the h500. the volume still not loud enough even at full volume I had trouble hearing in mod noisy conditions. On the h700 Moto did away with the rubber ear piece that seal the unit to my ear and infact after 30 to 40 minutes of use the h700 started to hurt my ear. Not at comforable for mod to long periods of use. The flip boom on/off and incoming call connects is a very nice feature. but overall the h700 is an over priced piece of plastic.

To date I have went through 3 of these, and must say this is the biggest ripoff that motorola has produced. Im now on a plantronics which is "so far so good". The H700 problems I experienced was static all the time well within the 30 foot range, and continual loss of bluetooth signal. This is not what the convenience of bluetooth is all about.
