Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

I have had this for less than two months and am going to take it back. The fm reception is getting worse day-by-day. The cord must be kinked somewhere too since I ave to "play" with the cord to get the sound through both left and right speakers.

Playback is fine from my ipod with earphones and I have never "abused" the device. (ie-no twisting of the cord, bending it up, dropping, etc.) I use it in my truck and SUV only, but I have had the same issue now that I tried it with some home stereo equipment too, before returning it.

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

I bought a transmitter from a drug store that costed me about $19.99. When I saw this one I bought it cause it was on a clearance rack. I also recommend a volume control for it to connect to the tape out jacks or mixer for personal radio broadcasting. Sounds better and its stronger on 88.3. One thing is that it does not transmit on 96.9 and middle range frequencies. But its good for 88.3 and 107.3 MHz.

It's [$]bucks. I live in a city, it works fine. How can you complain about something so cheap. If you expected that much out of it, you are a naive, ignorant person. It gets the job done real well with my Zune.

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

It was easy to setup, but I found the switches on the side to change frequency, not well constructed.
I see these switches failing in the near future.
The reception would cut in and out quite often no matter which channel that I used, and it needed to be on the dashboard to work the best.
I used it with a Sansa Sandisk mp3 player, and the sound was quite "tinny" with no bass response ... something that you would hear on a weak FM station.

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

I've owned two of these. I had to replace my first one because it stopped working. I'm very close to getting rid of my current one. When it turns on, the station is still has tons of static. I have had a horrible time with it. Spend the money on one that does what it says it will.

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

There are only 8 bands. That means most, if not all, end up with just noise. So if you live in a big city with a lot of radio stations, choose something else that provides A LOT more bands.

By Kim N from Palatine on 12/21/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

Like any other airwave transmitter, you'll get static. But for the cost and the ease of use, it's well worth it. This is the second transmitter I've tried and it works. I'd lose my cell phone signal before I lose the fm transmitter signal.

By Chris R from PA on 9/24/2006
Pros:
Easy to use

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

It eats through batteries. When plugged in it doesn't have a shot of working. It's a horrible device. I work at RadioShack, and I can tell you all the truth. Don't buy this product. Opt for a Belkin or Accurian, or even a Griffin if it's an iPod that you have.

By Tim E from Berkeley, CA on 9/15/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good Value

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

I had the 12V adapter, however, FM transmission strength depended on charge of mp3 player (Zen Micro), not the 12V. I live in a crowded radio market, and appreciated the 8 channel option--however, the signal was only strong on two of the 8, weak on another 2, and non-existent on the other 4. Very sensitive to position. Packaging suggests a 20 foot range for transmission... my experience suggest 3 to 4 inches provided optimum quality. Would not purchase again.

By mystery m from anywhere on 7/15/2006

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

Very poor product. Doesn't do what it is supposed to. FM signal is of poor quality. Half the time I couldnt hear it at all. The other half was so cloudy with static....Buttons are miniature and it is hard to select stations....not enough station variety...I returned it two days later.

By Jim SVerified Reviewer from MA on 7/6/2006

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

I found the reception and sound quality to be 'marginally acceptable'. Other reviewers are correct in stating that your sound dramatically improves when holding it in your hand. Did they forget to build in an antenna? My big gripe, however, is that the thing only lasted a couple of months before the connecting cable started to fail. TERRIBLE quality.

This is truly aweful. I read the other reviews and didn't believe them. Now I wish I'd believed them. I am headed back to Radio Shack to return this thing. Why was it ever released as a working product?

I found this easy to use, however the reception on all channels was less the extrodinary. The sound was muffled and very "tinny" if that is a word. i plan on returning it first thing tomorrow.

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

Constantly cut out at higher frequencies (anyone singing a word with an 's' sound was replaced by harsh static) on all available stations. Extremely sensitive to position. Returned within a week.

By Steve R from Hurricane, WV on 3/15/2006
Pros:

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

Works as well as more expensive FM transmitters so long as you use the included 12V DC adapter. It did not work well on batteries alone in my car. Still, I was impressed given the price I paid.

By Michael P from Seattle on 3/14/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

Comments about RadioShack Wireless FM Transmitter:

It does a good job in Seattle (I drive downtown) on 107.3 - even though there's a station there. I docked it one star for performance because the other stations don't come in too well.
