The talk buttons on both handsets quit working. One within one year, the second shortly after. Exessive force was not used pushing buttons. Clarity of line was great but now extra sets are not available so I will have to purchase a new system.

I would have rated it high, but found the message alert beep annoying. Could not disable it without turning off the flashing alert too. Poor "all or nothing" design.

removed DSL filter, and the unit has stopped missing calls...but the line has a lot of static (expected). Going to ask RadioShack if their DSL filter would work any better w his phone.

Same issues as others - call comes in, unit won't pick up the call, only randomly...but I have a DSL filter in place and will remove it tonight to see if things get better!

This was a great sale price, but I still feel like It is an overall 5 on the rating scale. Easy to set up and use, great range on the cordless phones. I am going to order another one for my office.

I was having the same problems as the others with the unit dropping calls, and not answering and then re-starting. I un-plugged my DSL line filters off the base unit and the problem went away. RadioShack can thank me later.

This is an excellent phone!!! I love it~ we use two of them at my work....radio shack and they are awesome. we have beaten them to death and they still work and look brand new! very durable and they have great range! it will def. be the last phone you will need!

Best portable phone I've ever owned, bar none. I feel for those who've had problems with this phone, but they must have gotten those .01% that are lemons. I bought the phone & 1 handset first, later added two more handsets and will buy a 5th the next time they're on sale. I haven't had a single problem with any of them, purchased at different stores at different times, so you know the quality must usually be pretty good. Great clarity on handsets and answering machine, great display, very easy to use features... I keep discovering cool new ones, too, like being able to play back the answering machine messages from any handset, easily synching the memorized phone numbers across all handsets, and more. Great phone. The range isn't as good as I'd expected from a 5.8GHz, but everything else is better than expected. P.S. I don't usually take the time to write product reviews, but after seeing a couple of negatives, I felt strongly that I needed to praise this phone.

I also have the same problems as Max, Gloria and the others. You answer the phone and you get silence.You then have to constanly unplug it and it resets. I have returned the phone twice and still am having the same problems with my 3rd one.

I am having the same problems as the reviewer Gloria K., the phone randomly freezes and you lose a call, I returned the phone and got another, it has the same problem. If not for that the phone would be prefect, but this flaw prevents picking up a call, so all the features in the world are not worth anything if you cannot talk on the phone.

A great expandable phone system. I really like all of the features: Intercom, page, speakerphone and Direct Link; Can be used as walkie talkie when away from home. I received as a gift and I love it! Good job Radio Shack. Much better quality than one from a box store.

5 stars for this really great product! It has every feature I ever wanted. Mute, DND, intercom, speaker phone on both base and handset and so much more. I really love that the caller ID displays on both the handsets and answering machine. It even mounts to the wall. You don't need a phone jack for the expandable phones. Clarity is excellent. No problems with programmaing. I love this phone.

I purchased this phone and returned it because often times I would have to unplug the equipment and reset it for no apparent reason. The exchange phone did the same, although not lately. What bugs me the most is a call would come in, I would answer and the screen would display connecting, and then give me an out-of-range message. Thank goodness for caller-id and star 69. Other than that, I love the features. I'm a gadget person. I like the answering machine feature for recording calls. If your call is personal, be sure to turn on the privacy mode. Otherwise, both handsets have full functioning capability if they're on at the same time, I don't know if that's a plus or minus.

Given to me for a Christmas present. The answering machine does not work. It only records for 7 seconds and it cannot be changed. The manual is not very helpful in trouble shooting this problem. I hate to return it however I need a good answering machine.

It's a good phone. It doesn't have the range it's billed for, but then not many phones do. The main feature on this is the ability to expand it and not have 3 different kinds of phone over the house. The "assign ringtone" feature is neat for people you know who call you a lot and the speaker phone is one of the easier to work I've found.

I knew from the minute I walked into RadioShack that this was a quality "Uniden" made phone. I'm very picky when it comes to phones and other electronics. This phone is clearly the best phone I have ever used(and I've had phone sets triple the price). The weight feels good in your hand, not like junk twice the price, setup is great I like the global feature ( So I dont have to set features on each handset). Clarity "Perfect" Range "Perfect".Price "Outstanding"...and not for nothing,I like the color, RadioShack stayed away from the typical "BLACK" like all the others. I highly recommend this phone.Good job RadioShack, Im going now to buy more handsets.

Ordered a Panasonic 5.8GHz phone and returned it when I saw this one on sale. As other reviewer pointed out, the phone is made by Uniden for Radio Shack. It has excellent range, very clear sound, and many useful features. The handset speakerphones are excellent. They do not break up when you use them as do many others, and the person who called you can hear you very clearly (all have told me they didn't know they were on a speakerphone!). The intercom works well (no more yelling upstairs). I've had many cordless phones before, but this one has been the best by far. We'll be adding 2 more handsets.

Great phone, lots of features, good speakerphone which was the main reason why I upgraded from my rock solid Panasonic 2.4ghz. But unfortunely, just like the uniden phones this one suffers from very short range. Other than that is a good phone and great value at the sale price.

This is a great Phone. I have been buying panasonic cordless phones for years, but this was such a good deal i had to try it. Tons of features on this phone. Dont know if I will ever use it as a monitor or dircet connect walkie-talkie, but it is there. Tons of ring tones, great display, easy install and setting of outgoing message, good speaker phone. And I did get a manual with mine - and it was a very detailed manual. I went thru it last night watching tv - could not believe all the features in this phone for 80 bucks. Plus I did not have to fight the mega store GenPop traffic. Just went down the street to my local RS. In and out in 5 mintues, plus the clerk actually knew all about the features of the phone. Wow.

you must read the manual. but this phone is so much better than my old R S 2.4ghz. the base lights up only when you use it, or when someone has left a massage. got it on sale too.
