Taking off the fake motor and buying a battery pack are a must. I have jumped this boat off of waterfalls and fliped it over a few times and it seems to do well enough for me. This boat is cool, it needs to be pushed to the limit to truly injoy it.

it was very flimsy and hard to steer. i have tried many boats in my life and this was the worst by far. i could have built a way better boat. This boat is so bad it should be run on land. it was very weak and badly desinged!!!!! good day sir/ma`am

We had two of this boat. They were great for the first fifteen minutes then the rudders fell off both boats. We were using the boats in a pond so there was no hope of retrieving them. I stopped at Radio Shack to see if we could get new rudders. Nope. No help at all. We were told we did not spend enought to get help. Gee[$] for two useless boats seems like too much to me.

Bought 2 boats to drive on pond with my nephew. Read the reviews before buying. First boat I hooked the metal wire on the rudder keep it from being lost (glad I did because it did come off but the wire saved it). The second boat had a redesigned rudder that can't come completely off so they have fixed that problem. The first boat went 2 feet and then made a horrible sound. I kept driving it for about 10 minutes and it finally stripped the gear. The second one ran great for a whole battery. After I recharged and ran again that boat also started stripping the gear and going slow. So now I got 2 junk boats, 3 nicad batteries I bought and also a fast charger I ordered. Very disappointed in this item. I should have spent more money and got a higher quality boat I guess. Also the boats rear going underwater when you back up is annoying. I ordered some metal gears online and also some different couplers im going to use to try to fix them. I was able to lower the motor in one by cutting the posts that hold it and get the boat working again but this fix is only temporary.

i had this boat in the water and was impresed by the speed over other r/c boats i own {small rc for pools} but after about 5th time lost 2 teeth off motors plastic gear, piece of junk now, cant find replacement parts, that makes alote of sense to put metal gears with plastic gears, i got this boat for my 43rd birthday, my wife and i are dissapointed with this product.

The boat was used in a pool. My son was very dissappointed he used his own money to buy it and
after about 15 minutes of use the plastic gear was stripped. Not a good design having a metal
gear on the motor and a plastic one on the prop.

This was my 5 year son's first camping trip. Luckily I requested to check the first one in the store, it would only run in short pulses. We got another one off the shelf and it worked as expected in the store. I took it to a local pond and it was fine. I only had the alkaline batteries and it was very controlable for a first time user. After reading the reviews on here I even added a security strap to the rudder in case he was to knock it off in the river. However after much anticipation the grand opening at the camp ground was a bust, it was running the same as the first one. I do not recommend buying this, it is not dependable.

After using it one time, got tangled in some fishing line the propeller shaft came off the motor.
After a simple fix, it was running like new.
Very easy to fix, great speeds.

Went to the local lake and pool with a couple of friends. Got there put it in the lake and started it. Man did this thing go fast. Tryed it 4 more times, stopped in the middle of the lake but got it. Opened it to find the battery holder wasnt in, tryed it again worked fine. Went to pool worked great. Bad thing about it is that is takes 8 hours to be full charged with a rechargable battery.

First couple times i drove it it was ok. Speed isn't crazy fast but its one of the faster ones i have seen. I am just using rechargeable AA's since i had them already and it would last about 20-30min on a charge. The rudder comes off but it just pops right back in place. It was about my third charge when i was running the boat it just stopped and i heard the motor spinning. So i got the boat back with the fishing net and the gear that is on the drive shaft is broken! Two teeth are missing so when i stop i cant go again when its on the water. It would be better if they made replacement parts.

I bought two boats with different Frequencies to allow simultaneous use. Day one: Rudder came off of one boat. Snap on /off connection. Without it the boat will not turn. Day 2: One of the boats developed a short. Motor was 50/50. Kinda a bummer. returned to store for exchange. Keep your receipt..

Great boat. One of the kids' young friends picked it up out of the pool, ran, then dropped it on the pea gravel deck. It broke the rudder. It's been very durable up till then... (banging around in the pool, going over logs, tangling in moss)... Was online looking for a new part, but think I'll just go grab another... and tell the kids not to take it out of the pool. I recommend the rechargeable battery pack (another [$]) with it.

Took it out of the box,charged up the battery pack,and then put it in the pond.This boat is super quick and it turns on a dime,the only suggestion i have is to maybe place a small weight in the front bow,as this boat lifts itself out of the water due to the speed it generates.the NI-CAD battery pack is the way to go....

i got this boat on sale for [$] and was ready to get what i payed for, i got the rechargable battery pack charged it threw it in the water was in total shock, this boat is quick and well worth the money, now i got inventive took the motor out and replaced it with a 550 racing motor.. let me tell for another [$] for the new motor this boat is screaming fast at least 40mph

We bought one for my son and one for my niece for Christmas. We also got the battery packs rather than use the AA "packs" included with the boats.The kids let the adults use the boats in the pool and we beat the snot out of them. Yes, they will get air when they strike each other broad side. Not the intended use, but hey, we're both 40 going on 12. [...] It was slower than the other unit. Other than that they were tough and faster and better handing than expected. for the money I expected an uncontrolable putter. These things move pretty quick and turn on a dime. My son ran it in the pond later on and had full control up to the advertised 150 feet. Can't say enough good about it for the money.

For [$] you cant beat this boat. I have to say I was more than a little shocked at the speed of this boat. Worth alot more than [$].You need to buy the sealed re-chargable battery pack to get the full impact from this boat.Regular batteries will work but the boat is 2.5 X faster with pack.

Lots of fun, great value. Good performance (and Battery life) using AA NiMH rechargeable batteries. Used it for an afternoon on a small pond in the country with no problems. Seems to be pretty durable, too.
