Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

They sounded great and preformed as advertised. My problem is that I didn't use them very often and they didn't last a year. I probably didn't have 20 hours use on them. Now they won't turn on. Put new batteries in and all I get is a quick low battery indicator icon and then back off again. Wish they still worked!

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

These are best for people who are want to listen to the radio while they are being bombarded by outside noise - the outside noise will be reduced, and you'll be able to hear the radio better. So if the neighbors have a loud stereo, or you're working with power tools that make a lot of noise, they are a good choice. Plus, if you use them outside during the winter, they'll keep your ears warm. I listen to the radio through headphones while exercising, gardening, and doing housework, and I keep a pair of these for those times when I need insulation from outside noise (such as when I'm vaccuuming).

Otherwise, regular *uninsulated* radio headphones might be a better choice.

These are heavy, hot, and bulky. They are well-made, just a little too much for daily use. And I definitely would recommend not using them if you're doing something where you need to be alert to your surroundings, like driving or riding a bike.

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

These headphones are the best..I live in them..when working, exercising, driving, doing yard work, house work,I wear them on most occassions. They are extremely comfortable, like pillows on the ears. And the sound is WONDERFUL.I love these and have an extra pair in case the first set quits working.Even tho I've had them for 4 years now and wear them at least 6 hours every day and they're still going strong.Even going that much I only have to change the batteries about every 4 months.
I've had other brands of head phones in the past that were uncomfortable after wearing them for a period of time..but these are always extremely comfortable.Plus you won't believe the quality of the sounds of the music..it's like you're sitting in the recording studio. You can actually hear Mick Jagger taking breaths between lines..that's how great the sound is..Plus the bass option is superfine.I'd go as far as to say the quality of my life has changed for the better since I started wearing these.
Thanks Radio Shack!

I own a small excavation buisness. I use the headset radio everyday. Great sound ,great reception, feels good while wearing them. Accidently left them on the tracks of one of my dozers. I started moving and I was going to put on my headset, then I rememberd were I left them. I stopped and looked back and there they were laying on the ground in several pieces. Boy if I could I would have kicked myself. Well I called my wife told her what I had done and told her to go get me another set. Great product. Thanks Radio Shack.

Today, I will return my 4th headphone set. Thankfully, I continue to buy the extended warranty (2 years) for $10...so I get a new one every few months for $10. Sound and recepetion is GREAT...they just don't last. Same problem every set....loss of tone, quality and bass. You'd think by now...they have the problem fixed!

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

I found the headset to be comfortable and worked well muting out the cars and other distracting street noises so that I was better able to hear my music. This was the reason I purchased the headset and it accomplished my goals. I read some previous comments about the volume not being loud enough or too loud but the headset has a master volume and individual volumes so that you can control the right and left separately. The station presets are great. I have used it every day and am very pleased with my purchase

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

I bought this model 5 years ago, and it's still in active use. I've been through many portable radios, and this radio has surprisingly good reception for a headset radio, one of the best receptions around. And the sound quality's better than one of those $100 Bose headphones. Very comfortable fit over the ears and scalp. The only defect it's developed over the 5 years I've had it has been the left and right headphone volume controls cutting in and out when adjusting. Advice for outdoor use: don't use when the temperature is below 32 degrees.

I use these every day. These things can take many many lickings and they will keep on ticking. The sound is premium. i have bought many others AM/FM receivers from Sony, etc, and they don't even come close to the quality these produce. I have had these for over 2 years and they still sound great!! one of the wires on the headphones got snipped so I am headed out right now to go get another pair. This is the best [$] bucks you can spend on Am/FM headphones. I swear by them. They bring me so much pleasure!

I clean houses and I wear them everyday to listen to talk shows. I can hear really well while vacuuming. I even dropped them in a very large bowl of dog water. I shook off the water and they still work. I have dropped them numerous times as when I lean over to clean something they sometimes fall off. My current headphones are about 2 years old and I am going to buy a replacement pair just in case Radio Shack quits making them. I never have a reception problem with them.

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

I am what you might call a talk radio junkie.Whenever I go for a run or walk I wear my headset. When it came time to replace my current model I was dismayed to find it was no longer being made.I have always owned Sony and it looks like they have given up on this segment of the market.I guess they feel people only wants IPODs these days.So it was with great pleasure when I found Radio Shack had just what I was looking for.My only complaints are I live about 50 miles away from NYC so I wish the reception was a little better.Perhahs an external antenna would help. Also I wish you could go back and forth when tuning in a station.Currently you have to go foward thru all the stations until you reach the one you want.Otherwise I would recommend this product and hope Radio Shack never stops making it.

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

These seem like high quality headphones. They are very light, and the reception is pretty fair (LOVE the digital tuner). However, the nature of the design (full earmuffs) indicates that they would isolate one's ears from outside noise. I bought these for mowing, and they are pretty unusable for that on my garden tractor. I have taken to putting in foam ear plugs, THEN putting on the muffs. With close-by radio stations, they get loud enough to hear the music, but your ears ring a little when you're done. They should make them more soundproof to outside noise.

By Thoughtfulconsumer X from Calif. on 6/22/2007

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

It has a strong digital tuner that will pick up weak stations. It has an input jack so you can use it as a regular headset with other audio sources. It really blocks out ambient noises ,good for working. The bad side is they are really heavy and there is no mechanical way to lock them to your head ,if you use them while working they fall off if your head points down. The biggest down side and a potential deal killer is that there are so many moving joints made of plastic that this headset rattles and groans like a tank in combat when you move your head. It's passable for walking around, but if you use it for quiet listening just minimum movement of your head causes lots of creaking noises. What is good about this unit is really good. But there is some annoying traits to adapt to.

I have been using these headphones for over 2.5 years and I use them hard (8-10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week) and I can't believe how well they have held up. They still look and perform as good as new. They are very comfortable and do a good job of blocking external noise. I'm considering getting another pair as a backup, but at the rate things are going my first set may last forever!

By James R from Pettit on 9/1/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

I bought them for use with my Creative Zen Micro Photo as a wireless headset since I already have a FM transmitter, plus the FM radio in the Zen is not the best in the world. The FM sensitivity is super. They are comfortable and the sound quality is superb. As one reviewer noted, the separate volume controls are a plus for me since I have slight hearing loss in the left ear. I especially like the design of the auxillary input for a direct connection from a MP3 or portable cd player. So, I have basically a three function, great sounding headphone (including wireless operation) for 1/2 the price of other wireless headphones. I will also use them while on a riding lawnmower. Instead of just wearing heavy hearing protectors, I can reduce the noise from the mower and jam to my favorite tunes instead. Great value for the price.

By Stephen C from Manhattan Beach CA on 6/5/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

I am giving these a best rating as they are the best of all units that I've looked at. (For my needs) They are not disturbed by CRT monitor RF interference. They are comfortable yet grip on head without falling off. The Pletor brand headsets are not as comfortable, hotter and heavier. These headphones hold signal very well. Digital tuning is great. Controls are moron proof. Other headsets that I have tried lose signal when you turn your head. The only con that I have is the split volume control. You need to turn control on each ear can to reduce volume. It's not a huge problem. It may actually be of benefit to those who have unequal hearing.

By Carl P from Norwalk, ohio on 3/5/2006

Comments about RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio/Headphones:

I got this for a father's day gift. I wanted to use them while working in my shop and while mowing lawn. I found them fading in and out to much to even use them. They were also to heavy and when you bend over they would fall off my head. I have a Sony walkman and it don't fade out. So I really don't use them at all. Maybe if you live closer to a bigger city they might pick up better? I really wish I could return them. Sorry about the negativity but that's how they worked for me.
