Did as instructed, letting it run down between charges but still only lasted 10 months. RS only has a 90 day warranty. Other brand batteries have a year warranty at same price.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT....

Not available was the required AT&T Battery Pack 3301. Radio Shack recommended model 23-298 as equivalent substitute. Product lasted less then 3 months.

We always replace our two phone in the base unit/charger and have not had a problem with the manufacturers batteries. We were told this was a suitable replacement for our phones, yet both batteries we purchased lasted only 3 months - unacceptable.

Tho the price wasn't bad at all, I expected a longer life out of the battery. 90 days (3mos) is NOT ample time for a phone battery. That would mean I would have to replace it 4x in a 1 year period @ a cost of [$] not counting taxes. For the same price I would buy a replacement phone with a battery life of at least 1 year.

From all the negative comments it is clear that[...] have not been explaining how to treat a battery once you buy it...and the customers have no idea.Manufacturers rate this type of battery as having a one year expected life. Typical use gets 18 months to two years.Ni-Cad batteries like this have a "memory." If you keep using it for a little and charging it up again, eventually it forms a chemical barrier that keeps it from discharging more than that little you routinely use.To avoid this, start by giving the battery a good 20 hours on the charger when you buy it...without interrupting it by using the phone. Then keep it off the charger until it is full drained and charge it up for a good 20 hours again. This keeps the chemicals that hold the power mixed and keeps the battery working fully. You can easily get 4 years of life this way.At the very least, leave it off the charger and use it until it runs down completely -- and then fully recharge it -- at least once every 3 months.If you are going away on vacation for an extended period, take the battery out of the handset.There. Now you know how to get a good life out of any ni-cad phone battery. (And at the price of batteries you want to get all the life you can!)

Only used the cordless handset 3-4 times per month for no more than 20 minutes or so. Always kept it in the charging unit otherwise. It died suddenly after only about 5 months. Unacceptable performance.

This battery was a total disappointment. I should have kept the old one at least I could understand why that didn't hold a charge for very long. From the first day until now this would never fully charge or hold a charge. I'm going to replace it but not with a Radio Shack brand battery. This is a piece of junk.

We have cordless phones for our business and home. This is the first battery we bought from Radio Shack and are disappointed that it will not hold a charge. Each passing day it lasts less and less time; it now has less than an hour talk time and can not be left off the charger more than 24 hours. Our other phones are left off their chargers till they need to be charged for days. This one can not last even 24 hours. Horrible product!

When your phone requires this battery, you are kind of stuck. Better read the battery reviews before you purchase the phone. Even though we charged our batteries, let them die and charged them again; they have a memory and don't hold a charge.

These batteries will not last long if you dont take care of them properly . Don't expect much out of ni-cd batteries if you leave them on the charger. It is best to charge only when they get low.
