Alternative to 6-16 hour chargers when time is not available. Times so far varied between 15-34 minutes, depending on battery capacity and state of charge. When fully charged, my unit turns individual light off - not changing from red to green - products & suppliers may change.

Local store will remedy faulty products, but the battery problems referred to by other reviewers may be caused by abnormal battery conditions (faulty?) which the unit doesn't like (why it blinks). I had just bought another smaller charger (6-8 hrs) which flashes "abnormal battery condition" much more frequently (contact quality, state of charge issues).

Using a basic digital voltmeter, I am pleased with the product since purchasing a few days ago; updates later as to battery life and charge stamina.

This charger is great for a quick charge, but a slower, trickle-type charger should be used if you're relying on batteries to last more than a few hours.
Using this 30-min. charger, I got 4.5 hours out of four AA RadioShack nickel MHD batteries in a Pro-94 scanner.
Using an 8-hour RadioShack charger, I get 12 hours from the same batteries.

if you follow the instruction's and follow them in order of use,the charger work's just fine!
a good digital camera will let you change the battery type you are using in the camera's menu!
of course some digital equipment is not designed for use with re chargeable battery's,but apparently most people(general public),doesn't know this info.
......my recommendation to all of you is to first check with the equipment manual to see if rechargable battery's will work correctly first.do a little research first.it will save you time and money in the end.
i did the research>purchased a digital camera that will let you use several different types of batteries......the result?.......this product works flawlessly!

This charger seemed like a good deal at the time, and I had heard from my friend that it worked well. However, I'm off at college now and the charger doesn't charge my AA batteries. They're inserted correctly; the indicator lights just flash slowly at me the entire time. The batteries don't have much charge in them after leaving them in there overnight. Don't buy this product.

This charges any NiMH batteries in less than 30 minutes, and the charger comes with FOUR EACH 2300 mAh AAA and AA batteries, which purchased separately separately add up to the price of the charger and battery kit. (Plus I got it on sale for $10 off!) Amazing price and great performance. It never overcharges or overheats the batteries. The only tiny complaint I have is the design. I like the wall-tap type better because they're more out of the way in my house. But no problem, because the batteries charge so quickly I can put it away quickly. This product and a 22-111 battery checker is the perfect combo.

I agree with the other comments about the batteries getting way too hot to the touch and making you uneasy (the though of them exploding crosses my mind so I keep them at a distance) and I also have to really make sure I insert them with the correct polarity due to the poorly designed charger, indeed they should have made the charger with all the batteries' polarity one way so you don't end up screwing up. Still it is worth it, I like the fact that you can charge them each individually. Next time I will run a small fan when charging them to dissipate so much heat.

The weird thing is that the power light no longer works. I plug it in and it charges but the power light does not go on anymore.

The charger works great. Charges in about 30 minutes and does not overcharge. Temperature sensors keep the batteries in check.

Wow, this thing charges batteries fast, but I swear, I thought the batteries were going to explode after they were done. Wayyyyy hot to the touch. Makes me feel a little uneasy.

I used this product three times, now the power light does not even come on when I plug the unit in. I guess that is the reason for the 90 day only warranty.I am Canadian and I feel ripped off!

The charger worked as advertised. I've had mine for over a year and it has always performed as expected. Once I forgot to remove the batteries and allowed the charger to run overnight - with no detrimental effects to the batteries. The auto-cutoff worked like a champ (though the green LED lights stayed on, which initially scared me).

One small complaint: The design is a little awkward. I have to peer intently at the diagrams on each slot in order to figure out how to place the batteries in. Since the charger is so efficient that I don't use it often, several times I've placed batteries in the wrong way. A better design would have been to have the batteries side-by-side, head up. That would be unforgettable. Instead, I have to try and remember 4 different positions.

I know the battery positions diagrams show the correct way to insert the batteries, but the designer obviously is under 40 years old and has perfect close range vision.

This product is GREAT. The last charger I had from Radio Shack took 3 hours to charge. Needless to say it was pretty old and bulky too. I can't believe how fast this unit charges and how long the charge lasts.

since i unpacked this product it was damage. The right port don't charge the batery. It flash slowly and only works the other three ports. Batteries short life.

I charged the batteries as instructed and when I put them in my camera it won't turn on. Indicator light says batteries are charged yet they don't work!

This product didn't work. Charged the batteries according to the instructions, put the "charged" batteries in the camera and they didn't work. The indicator shows the batteries are charged and they don't work. They are brand new batteries that came with the product. I feel like I was totally ripped off.
